Wow, Mel…I can’t imagine what horrible things people have done to warrant such an apology. You have been nothing but professional and very approachable through this whole experinece. Mistakes happen. I haven’t noticed any and you have answered any and all questions I have had quickly and completely. You even went the extra mile to help when I wanted to lengthen the sweater (which I’m in the process of doing now.)

I will have an amazingly beautiful and custom sweater at the end of this journey and I’d like to think I have made a new friend in you as well.

    • No! no! The things people have said haven’t been horrible. Just real concerns that all have value and merit. I’d be foolish and caviler to ignore them.
The surprise of the format for the knit together was important to correct. I just should have corrected correctly (lol) and not in such a rush. I did things that really threw some participants for a loop.
I share this apology with everyone with a cheerful heart! We are only as good as the reputation of our name and I want everyone to feel I give a fair deal.
I am SO HAPPY you love your sweater! It will be such a great feeling that from this point on everyone has the opportunity to share in that delight!
Looking forward to seeing your sweater.
And more importantly I am over the moon we can connect as friends! Much aloha to you!

Wow, like the above poster and I am shocked that this is needed. I’ve had a wonderful experience with this knit together. I LOVE the concept of feeding it piece by piece and knitting together with videos and new blog entries and am so happy that I can be part of your new adventure. Nothing is perfect the first time, actually nothing is ever perfect! I’ve only had a great experience and would love for this to be a springboard for other knit-a-longs using the same methods. I’ve been so bummed because of other commitments that have taken over my knitting time (work deadlines and Christmas events) so my progress has stalled. But I fully intend to finish this sweater, and hopefully before 2015!

Thank you for the wonderful experience. I love the yarn, the pattern, and this experience, so please don’t refund my money for the pattern.

Wow! Just WOW!! I have no idea what prompted all of this, nor do I need to know.. I just want to say that you have been a wonderful leader and the knit has been so enjoyable. Unfortunately, life has gotten in the way lately and I haven’t knit on my sweater for a few weeks. Not all bad stuff, just Christmas and knitting for a new grand baby.

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. I love the pattern, the yarn and the entire ride. I will get back on the horse in the New Year — promise!

    Peace to you, Mel.

Wow! I’m not even sure what to say. The sun is shining for me in my nearly finished sweater. I am thrilled with it. I do not want a refund of any kind. Any pattern can have something that makes sense to the writer but not to others. However, the beauty of a KAL or K2tog is that we can all help each other understand the pattern. I think a few clarifications to the final pattern will make it that much better so thanks for doing that!

Mel, I am so sorry you have had such BIG issues with some folks. I have had to put my sweater on hold because of other Christmas knitting I am doing. I fully intend to finish knitting my sweater and have enjoyed the process. I appreciate your quick responses to my questions.
    Happy Holidays,
    Mary Lee

  6. Oh, my, my, my, Mel.You are positively sweet and approachable.

Your honesty and openness is refreshing. Your integrity the BEST!! I have positively loved!!!! working on my sweater and getting to know you better through this wonderful format of the knit together. I really want to encourage you to do more of these. I will join you and wish you weren’t so far away geographically because I would love to sit at the table with you and knit together.

Please do not refund any of my money…it is COMPLETELY unnecessary!!!

Let us continue to grow and learn together.

Mel, I am thoroughly enjoying this project! I am sorry you are feeling like you’ve let some knitters down. Not me! I am getting exactly what I expected and am loving the process. I really enjoyed your fresh ideas of the video chats and I loved getting to spend some time getting to know you a bit. It’s a forum that I think you should continue to explore. The pattern and yarn are combining to make a gorgeous sweater! THANKYOU!!!

  8. Mel, I am truly shocked with your video. Have their been some bumps in the road? Yes, but I don’t think it has been to the extent that such an apology is needed. I like the design of the sweater, I truly enjoyed the swatches and I learned from that process. I have not gotten to side increases, so I can’t comment about those. The blog process was different, but not terrible for me. I did find it a bit hard to navigate, but I think that is my technology issue and not yours. I am still knitting! Please do not refund my pattern money. I am truly impressed with your desire to make people happy and do whatever it takes to for that to happen. You have set the standard for all designers. You have done everything you can to resolve any issues, so I would love to sit down with you for a cup of Kona coffee anytime.
